"When we made reservations through On Line Scotland,
we were requested to report on our trip - three weeks
in July - and both my wife and I are happy to report
that it was a truly wonderful three weeks, thanks in
no small part to the two stays we arranged through On
Line Scotland.
Glengarry Castle Hotel was delightful, and we enjoyed
the grounds as much as the hotel itself. It was a delightful
place to walk, with wonderful old trees and the beautiful
loch. Dinner was superb, and the whisky trifle was especially
judged to be spectacular by all who partook.
However, to be totally honest, Corsewall
Lighthouse Hotel was the true highlight of this
trip to Scotland. The room, though small, was beautifully
appointed to the smallest detail. And the food. From
the puff pastry appetizer served in the lounge with
drinks to the Drambuie flavored chocolate mousse (my
wife and a friend said it was perfect) to the meringue
with fresh cream, strawberries, and raspberries, everything
was as good as it could be. The main courses were exceptional,
as were the large selection of fresh vegetables, the
game soup, and the various appetizers. Even the sorbet
course was far above what we could have expected.
The lighthouse itself was wonderful, and the grounds
with a truly exceptional coo, numerous sheep and horses
added to the beauty of the rugged shoreline. I can not
only highly recommend the lighthouse as a perfect getaway,
I have - to my brother, a Scots Travel Agent - and to
two other couples planning a trip to Scotland in the
near future.
Castle
Stuart, Inverness
Each of the eight
bedrooms is named after the clans
who fought and died for 'Bonnie Prince
Charlie' at Culloden, and decorated
in their individual tartans. It is
a brave soul who would dare to sleep
in the haunted room at Castle Stuart,
said to play host to the spirit of
Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Thank you for all your assistance, and we look forward
to finding out about your newest treasures when we plan
our next trip. It was wonderful, as were all of the
B and Bs we visited, from Dundee to St. Andrews to Ulapool
to Wick! I also highly recommend spending the one pound
it takes to secure lodging through the visitor information
centers, as it saved considerable time, wear, and tear.
Again, thank you."

...communicating directly with God
"I am writing in reference to a Mr. Andrew White
from On-Line Scotland who has been helping my wife and
I with our travel arrangements. To say that he has assisted
us is a bit of an understatement. Prior to my encountering
him, I was extremely frustrated over my inability to
arrange for accomodations, locate train and ferry schedules
etc., on the internet in Scotland.
Thanks to him we have almost finished our lodging arrangements
and are in the process of completing our plans to go
from Glasgow to Belfast via the ferry at Stranraer.
My wife and I are in our fifties, our children are
through college, and the last few years we have taken
up travelling. We have a circle of friends who are in
a similar situation, so we take turns on going to a
country to ascertain what it's like to visit. So far,
members of the group have travelled to the South Pacific,
Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Costa
Rica, and the Caribbean. This year it is our turn to
play "pathfinders" and we have chosen Scotland
because a friend of ours was there several years ago
and recommended it to us. That, in addition to our having
such a great time when we visited Ireland in 1995, made
the choice easy for us.
Based on our experience with Mr. White, I'm sure that
our visit will be an enjoyable one that we will recommend
to our friends. Off hand I would rate Mr. White's performance
on a par with walking on water and communicating directly
with God, considering how helpful he was and the effort
he expended for total strangers. It's a rare thing to
encounter and my wife and I are both very grateful for
his efforts. As I mentioned to Mr. White, I would love
to buy him a pint when we get to Glasgow. I would like
to extend that invitation to you all at 'On-Line Scotland'
too, just to show my appreciation for the services rendered.
Yours truly,"
