CASTLE ACCOMMODATION

Nr Glasgow:

Glenapp Castle - The castle, built in 1870, had fallen into disrepair when Graham and Fay Cowan moved in. The garden was so overgrown that its paths and walls were hidden, and the ornate plasterwork was crumbling. Set in 30 acres of spectacular gardens and woodland just outside Ballantrae on the south Ayrshire coast.

Culzean Castle - Ayrshire
When the Kennedy family donated the castle to the National Trust for Scotland in 1945 they asked that the top floor be given to General Eisenhower as a thank you from the people of Scotland. Ike first came to Culzean in 1946 and was clearly touched to accept this gift.
